Attentive to the particularities of Public Law, our practice covers a range of services, including legal advice on administrative matters such as public tenders, contracts with the Government, concessions, permits, and authorizations for regulated activities. With expertise in several sectors and industries, in addition to an extensive network, we offer safe and pragmatic legal advice.
Learn about some of the activities that our work in Public Law entails:
- Legal support in public tenders and contracts with the Government and state-owned companies (analysis of invitations to tender, drafting of requests for clarification, challenges and appeals, contract risk matrix and amendments, disputes related to economic and financial balance, and review/adjustments and extension of deadlines.
- Drafting of legal opinions, legal due diligence reports, memoranda, Bills, Executive Orders, and other legislation, backed by explanatory memoranda and justifications.
- Monitoring and participation in public consultations and hearings of the Brazilian Congress and administrative agencies.
- Prevention and representation in strategic disputes in administrative and court proceedings as well as in domestic and international mediation and arbitration proceedings, including before the Courts of Audit and the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
- Representation in the application process of economic activities and matters involving government agencies, autonomous agencies, public foundations, professional councils, bodies and entities of the third sector and external control.
- Advice on privatization, granting od concessions, and public-private partnerships, as well as in expressions of interest.
- Advice on anti-corruption and compliance legislation, independent investigations, and integrity audits and development of compliance programs, policies, and training.
- Advice on privacy and protection of personal data (risk mapping and gap analysis in relation to the Brazilian GDPR), development and implementation of policies, training, and compliance programs.
