Our partner Aline Coelho was interviewed by the VIVA portal in a report on the impacts of the new legislation authorizing the installation of pharmacies inside supermarkets.

In the article, the specialist analyzes the regulatory implications of Law No. 15,357, highlighting that although the measure expands access and consumer convenience, establishments must fully comply with the sanitary and technical requirements applicable to traditional pharmacies.

“Supermarkets will need to comply exactly with the same sanitary, technical, and regulatory rules as regular pharmacies, including the presence of a pharmacist during all operating hours,” she states.

The partner also draws attention to points that still need to be clarified in practice, especially regarding liability in cases of service failures. As she notes, “joint liability is not presumed; it must be established by law,” indicating that interpretation of the issue will still depend on the evolution of case law.
