Jorge is a founding partner of BRZ Advogados. His career includes strategic and leadership roles worldwide, including positions at Glaxo Brazil S.A., Glaxo Latin America (southern and central regions), and Glaxo Wellcome Latin America.
With over 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, including 17 years at Pfizer, he has also worked at renowned companies like Bristol, Darrow, and Beecham.
Throughout his career, Jorge has received several honors, such as the title of meritorious of the National Academy of Medicine, the decoration by the Queen of England as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), the title of Honorary Citizen of Juiz de Fora, the Henrique Guilherme Fernando Halfeld Commendation, the Cândido Fontoura Necklace of Pharmaceutical Industrial Merit by Sindusfarma, and the Medal of Industrial Merit of Rio de Janeiro by FIRJAN.
Jorge has served as Chairman of the Advisory Council of Interfarma (Pharmaceutical Industry Research Association), a member of the ABPI (Brazilian Intellectual Property Association) Board of Directors, and a member of FIRJAN’s International Relations Council. In 2010, he joined the Advisory Council of the Brazilian Institute of Competitive Ethics (ETCO) and the Minerva Council of UFRJ. He was also a member of the IIPT (Innovation, Intellectual Property, and Trade Committee) of the IFPMA (International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Associations) in Geneva, Switzerland).
He was elected Honorary Member and Lifetime Director of ABPI in 2013 and received the FIRJAN Industrial Merit Medal in 2014. In 2017, the OAB (Brazilian Bar Association) awarded him the Sobral Pinto Merit Medal for his 50 years of service to the legal profession in Brazil.
In 2021, he was elected a member of the Superior Council of the Brazilian College of Surgeons (CBC). He currently holds the position of Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Sector of the Brazilian Center for Mediation and Arbitration (CBMA). He has several works published in Brazil and abroad regarding the Pharmaceutical Industry.
