Jorge Raimundo is partner of BRZ Advogados.

 

Jorge joined Glaxo do Brasil S.A. 1987 as President.

 

In 1988, he was appointed Area Director of Glaxo Middle Latin America (Brazil, Caribbean, Colombia and Venezuela). Later, he was appointed Area Director Glaxo South Latin America (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Ecuador and Peru).

 

In May 1995, he was appointed Area Director South Latin America for Glaxo Wellcome. On 1st October 1996, he was appointed Regional Director for Glaxo Wellcome Latin America. He was Chairman of Glaxo Wellcome in Argentina, Central America/Caribbean, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Venezuela and President and Managing Director of Glaxo Wellcome S.A. in Brazil.

 

Also in 1996, he became member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Glaxo Wellcome plc. in UK.

 

In January 1999, he was appointed member of the Management Committee. In 2000 he was appointed as member of the Commercial Operations Committee of Glaxo Welcome plc. in London. He retired from Glaxo SmithKline – GSK in January 2001.

 

Before joining Glaxo, he had 32 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing and management. He worked for 17 years for Pfizer in Brazil, USA and Venezuela. He also worked for Bristol, Darrow and Beecham in Brazil.

 

In 2000, he was elected Distinguished Member of the National Academy of Medicine of Brazil.

 

In 2001, he was awarded by the Queen of England with the Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)

 

In 2001, he was awarded as Honorary Citizen of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

 

In 2002, he was awarded with Comenda Henrique Guilherme Fernando Halfeld.

 

In 2002, he became President of Advisory Board of Interfarma (Association of Research of Pharma Industry). In 2003, he became member of the Board of ABPI (Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property). In 2004, he became member of the Foreing Affairs Committee of FIRJAN (Industry Federation of Rio de Janeiro). In 2005, he became Member of Advisory Board of Veirano & Advogados Associados. In 2008, he became member of the Advisory Board of Instituto Saúde e Sustentabilidade. In 2010, he became member of Advisory Board of ETCO (Instituto Brasileiro de Etica Concorrencial).

 

He is member of the University of Rio de Janeiro’s Council and is member of the IPPT – Innovation, Intellectual Property and Trade Committee, of IFPMA (International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufactures Association – Geneve, Switzerland).

 

In 2009, he received the “Colar Cândido Fontoura do Mérito Industrial Farmacêutico”, by Sindusfarma (Sindicato da Industria de Produtos Farmacêuticos no Estado de São Paulo).

 

In 2013, he was elected Member of Honor and Lifetime Director of the ABPI (Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property).

 

In 2014, he was awarded by FIRJAN (Federation of Industries of Rio de Janeiro State) with Medalha do Mérito Industrial do Rio de Janeiro.

 

In 2017, he was awarded by Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil – Bar Association with Medal of Merit Sobral Pinto in recognition of 50 years as a lawyer.

 

In 2021, he was elected member of the Superior Council of the Brazilian College of Surgeons – CBC.

 

Currently, he is Vice President of Pharmaceutical Department in the CBMA (Centro Brasileiro de Mediação e Arbitragem).

ACADEMIC EDUCATION

Jorge graduated as a lawyer in 1966 by Faculdade Nacional de Direito da Universidade do Brasil. He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association. He undertook several courses in marketing and management, including, in the USA, the University of Miami and Columbia University in New York.

 

Jorge was member of Latin America Regional Committee of PhRMA (Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association) and Councillor of The British Chamber of Commerce in Brazil.

 

He has published many papers about the pharmaceutical industry in Brazil and abroad.
